DANNY STRICK
SENIOR ADVISOR
Danny Strick joined Sony/ATV in 2004. He was Co-President of the U.S. company from 2007 until February of 2020. He worked side by side with Chairman Martin Bandier to help facilitate the rise of Sony/ATV to become the #1 worldwide music publisher. He had responsibility for East Coast A&R as well as the Nashville and Latin Music Divisions.
Strick was very involved with the Sony/ATV/Mubadala acquisition of EMI Music Publishing in 2007. His team was a strong contributor to the growth of the EMI asset until Sony acquired 100% of the catalogue in 2018.
Since his departure from Sony/ATV in early 2020, Strick has been an adviser to Vine Alternative Investments where he played a key role in their acquisition of the Calvin Harris and Sean Douglas catalogues.
Under his leadership at Sony/ATV, major signings to the roster included Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, Fall Out Boy, OneRepublic, A$AP Rocky, Of Monsters And Men, Pitbull, Sara Bareilles, Alessia Cara, The Chainsmokers, Leon Bridges, and G-Eazy.
Strick’s Nashville team signed stellar artists including Taylor Swift, Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett, Eric Church, and Miranda Lambert, while the Latin team signed artists such as Maluma, Luis Fonsi, Nicky Jam, and Farruko.
Prior to arriving at Sony/ATV, Strick was a senior A&R executive at Maverick Records where he signed Michelle Branch. Her Maverick albums have sold over 4 million units and generated five Top 10 Pop singles.
Prior to Maverick, Strick was President of the US division of BMG Music Publishing. Under his leadership, the company experienced strong growth fueled by a number of major signings including Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, Beck, Erykah Badu, and Ace Of Base. He also played a pivotal role in the acquisition of more than 50 catalogues at BMG including Santana, Christopher Cross, Peter Cetera, John Hiatt, BB King, Barry Manilow, Donny Hathaway, and John Lee Hooker.
