Malik Rasheed – President, CMNTY Culture RCRDS

Malik Rasheed is the President and Co-founder of CMNTY Culture RCRDS, a revolutionary black-owned record label dedicated to the inclusion, protection, and advocacy of its artists. Rasheed launched the year-old company alongside GRAMMY award-winning artist Philip Lawrence and marketing guru Chief Johnson as a safe place for artists to create. He has since utilized his relationships and vast experience in the music industry to grow CMNTY’s roster and connect and establish its artists in an organic way.

Nicknamed the “curator of culture,” Rasheed has always been ahead of the curve at identifying the nuance and spirit of culture across different communities and audiences. His acute ability to connect with people, nurture and protect artists and their ideas, and develop acts from the ground up led him to become the former Vice President of A&R at Epic Records where he worked alongside Tricky Stewart and L.A. Reid. Previously, Rasheed also worked with Scooter Braun Projects as the Senior Vice President of A&R. During the course of his career he has worked with some of the biggest names in music-helping A&R tracks with the likes of Kanye West, ScHoolboy Q, A$AP Rocky, Quadron, Future, Lil Baby, Bruno Mars, and more.

Rasheed currently resides in the Great L.A. area.
